Nutrition Plan Generation Fail

In this guide we will cover meal plan generation failures, what they mean, and how you can fix.

Error (cannot generate customer meal plan)

You will be notified via email when the platform cannot generate a particular customer meal plan. This can happen for a number of reasons. Lets dive into each below.

1. The customer has chosen too many dislikes & allergy ingredients

By including too many dislikes, the customer will limit the number of meals available for selection. Because of this, the platform is not able to find one or more meals that fit the customers criteria (calories/macros).

How to fix - The best approach is to reach out to the customer directly. Advise them that you are struggling to create their meal plan because they have listed too many dislikes.

The customer may allow some of those ingredients which you could then incorporate. Or alternatively, you could suggest either a snack or lunch meal option and customise it for the customer.

2. The macro settings for minimum protein or fat are set too high

Under Nutrition - Categories - you can adjust the macronutrient levels for minimum protein & fat for each individual meal category (see below)

In some scenarios, if the minimum protein & fat variables are set too high, the platform will not be able to find a meal to generate for a client who has a significantly high Lean Body Mass.

How to fix - Try lowering the minimum figure down slightly, then re-test. If you are still having generation issues then try lowering the number again until the meal plan is successfully generated.

Alternative - Manually select a meal from the list on generation to give to the client.

3. The meal category selected does not have enough meals (variety)

If the customer selects a nutrition category that has a limited number of meals assigned, the platform may not be able to find one or more meals that fit the customers criteria (calories/macros). This is more likely in the smaller categories, especially the category Affordable Meals.

How to fix - If you are seeing this a lot on a particular category, you can either look at adding additional meals, or making it clear that general is the preferred category for pickier eaters.

If you do not wish to add additional meals, the best approach is to communicate with your client, and suggest moving them to general instead.

4. The customer has entered the wrong data on sign up

Sometimes the customer may enter incorrect data on sign up, most commonly their height or weight measurements. This can affect the total number of calories
