Changing Customer To A Different Product Plan
To change a customer to a different product plan, the customer must subscribe/signup to that product plan.
At present changing a customer to another product plan is not possible within the platform or Stripe. The best approach is to cancel the customers current subscription within Stripe, then send them a new product link for the other subscription. However, do tell your customer to login to their account first, i.e. they can sign up again with the same account - email & password.
Some examples include:
- Customer wanting to downgrade from 'Meal + Workout Plan' product to 'Meal Plan' only product plan.
- Customer wants to change to a new product plan with a different workout program.
Changing Customer To A Different Pricing Plan
Within Stripe, you can change a customer to a new pricing plan without cancellation.
Note: this will not update the customers existing product plan
- To change a customer to a different pricing plan, first search for that customer in Stripe.
- Find the customer by typing their name in the search bar (we recommend searching for the customer via email address)
- When found, click on their email address to bring up their details.
- Go to subscriptions, and click on Update subscription
- Click on Add product, and select an alternative pricing plan.
- E.G. If your customer is on a weekly recurring product, you can switch them to a monthly recurring instead.
- Once you have selected the alternative pricing plan, you can then go ahead and remove the existing plan.
- Finally, click on Update subscription.
- Customer will now be switched over to the different pricing plan.
Important Note:
You cannot generate a new plan for a customer manually in Stripe. As a result no subscription will be created in platform (no plans). Subscriptions can only be created when the customer signs up via the platform. The platform needs their data to generate a workout & meal plan.
